Let’s go back in time to the days of the Aztec Empire. Our visit won’t be to just any old Aztec but the King of the Aztecs in this slots game from Barcrest.
If you’re a bit of an adventurer then you’ll probably know a great deal about the Aztec Empire. All those history books leave out the details of the slot games based on them. We’re back in ancient Mexico and there’s no sign of Speedy Gonzalez. We do have the King of the Aztecs though who stands to the left of the reels and keeps a close eye on what’s happening. He’s a big lad is the King and he does tend to get very excited when you get a win. Symbols in this game include the King of the Aztecs, a skull, dragon, bird and 10 through to Ace. The soundtrack fits in with the Aztec theme and is ok but a bit repetitive.
This is a five reel, 20 winning slot game and the minimum stake per line is 1p with the maximum £25 It’s always best to choose a stake and the number of lines you wish to play that you are comfortable with and can afford to lose. The game also has an autoplay feature which is handy if you have other things to do. Just press this button and choose either 5,10,15,20 or 25 spins before you need to do anything again and hopefully just watch those wins come in.
This isn’t the most complicated of games as will be explained, but before you start playing have a good look through all the rules. For example, if you’re finding yourself a bit confused by those mysterious Aztec symbols then don’t worry. The paytable has the answers to your questions and tells you about the varying values of stake multipliers. Once you’ve done that, have some free plays on the game just to get you used to it before placing any real money.
There are no bonus rounds in this game but that’s more than made up for by the fact that there should be plenty of wins coming your way. If you think that no bonus rounds or free spins makes for a dull game then you couldn’t be more wrong with ‘The King of the Aztecs.’
So without the bonus rounds or free spins, how do you get all the wins? Well, one big factor in this game is that any of the middle reels can turn wild. It’s suddenly got more interesting hasn’t it? If a winning line just happens to contain a scatter symbol then that’s really good news for you. That’s because they will be replaced by the wild symbol.
This feature really does produce some good wins as the wild reel substitutes for a scatter symbol. While playing this game I had those wilds come up a fair few times producing some extremely healthy wins. If three reels are turned wild then those words we love to see ‘Big Win’ comes up on the screen and the King ends up on the reels. All the golden coins come flying down and I think actually the King gets a bit squashed by them.
All really good news, well perhaps not for the King. Also for some even bigger wins, keep an eye out for this because if you just happen to get five of these scatters then you’ll win 200 times your stake for that game.
You might be initially put off by the fact this slots game doesn’t have any bonus rounds but don’t let that stop you playing. This has one of the most generous paytables among all the Barcrest games and along with the intriguing Aztecs theme, it’s a joy to play.
