Rainbow Riches: Pure Gold review

Rainbow Riches, the most popular British slot machine of all time is back, and this time it has brought some extra large pot bonuses along to the latest addition to the ever increasing series of slot machine games. Rainbow Riches Pure Gold follows on from previous Rainbow Riches slot machines, most notably Pure Pots, to bring a gold pot that is fixed on £500, and faster increasing bronze and silver pots for an enhanced gambling experience. With five reels overlaid upon a gold background, and twenty active winlines, the gold theme carries over to every aspect of the game.

Each of the five reels on Pure Gold features two pots, any of which can land randomly to help trigger the famous Pots of Gold bonus round. Three pots in view launches the standard Rainbow Riches Pots of Gold feature, with a chance to win the bronze, silver or gold progressive cashpots. Four pots in view launches the bonus round minus the bronze pots, leaving you with 50/50 chance of winning either the silver or gold pot.

In certain situations, especially as the slot machine gains in popularity, you might find that the bronze pot is a higher value than the silver, especially as they are all capable of reaching the £500 limit. In this situation you may want three pots rather than four.

Five pots offers a straight up £500 jackpot, and as such the pots remain on their current values. As the game is random, any jackpot or high winning value will not affect any future outcomes, so you may wish to carry on playing if the pots are high.

To make up for the increase in pots, and the increase in the rate at which the pots fill, there are no other features within the game, so the only way you can expect to win are reel based wins and the Pots of Gold bonus game feature. This may be off putting to some as many players enjoy the Leprechaun’s bonus round, and a small minority also enjoyed the Wishing Well bonus. But although these are not available on this version of Rainbow Riches, they will feature on the same terminal as another player options, so the choice will be there for some time yet.

Fancy A Gamble?

Rainbow Riches Pure Gold also features the bonus gamble, giving players a choice to increase (or lose) their winnings up to a maximum of £500. The bonus gamble works the same as the majority of other Rainbow Riches slots, with the choice to bank, part-bank and change the odds of any win. Rainbow Riches Pure Gold is much the same as Pure Pots, and is a step away from the classic versions of the Rainbow Riches slot machine series.

Currently available in amusement arcades and service stations on the Triple 7 cabinet, with a Ladbrokes and Coral version currently on the way.
