If you’re a fan of spaghetti westerns then chances are ‘The Good The Bad and The Ugly‘ is one of your favourite films. Clint Eastwood at his very best and with one of the best title tracks you’ve ever heard. Now it’s available as a video slots game and Fremantle have done a great job with it. I was delighted when the soundtrack included Ennio Morricone’s classic title track, it just wouldn’t be the same without it. This is a five reel game with 20 paylines and at the left hand side of the screen you have Clint Eastwood in all his glory as ‘The Man with No Name’. Above the reels are the title ‘The Good The Bad and The Ugly’ and that really gives you a great look to the game.
The minimum stake per spin is £0.10 and the maximum is £500 which is a decent amount to stake on one spin so only go for that if you can withstand such a loss or this could turn out to be bad and ugly. The symbols used in this game are totally related to the theme of the game which is always good to see. There’s no playing cards here which is a good job too because knowing the Wild West, it’ll only turn nasty when someone starts cheating. We have a Confederate flag, a US flag, a bag of gold coins, a wanted poster, a pair of crossed pistols, a grave marked ‘unknown’, a machine gun, a horse and a water flask. The wild symbol in this game is the horse and the crossed pistols are the scatter symbol that activates the bonus feature, more about that in a moment. To complete the list of symbols there’s the Tuco, Blondie with a noose coming down on his head, Angel Eyes and Man with No Name characters from the movie.
Playing ‘this game presents the player with no problems whatsoever. All the control buttons are down at the bottom of the screen. This includes the paytable which is good to have a look at to ensure you fully understand the rules of the game and an autopspin that allows up to ten automatic spins. This can be played on your mobile devices as well as on your PC without the need of any download.
Firstly we have Tuco’s Target Range. You need to get the crossed pistols anywhere on reels one and five to trigger this. Once that’s done the horse runs across the screen and you’re taken to another screen where there are five cut-out targets. You have three shots available to you and it’s basically a pick me game. Simply choose a target then fire at it and see what multiplier you earn from it. When your three shots have been completed then the multiplier you’ve hopefully earned is applied to your win. If you’ve seen the film then you’ll know that the climax of the film has a great scene set in a graveyard. Well the slots game has its own Graveyard Showdown and as you play the game the good, bad and ugly faces that appear on the reels increases the size of the prize available in this round with separate totals for each of the categories. You need to get the Good, Bad and Ugly symbols on reels three, four and five. If you can do that then you have the chance to win one of the progressive prizes.
This game has a fantastic look to it and the soundtrack can do no wrong as far as I’m concerned. The bonus games are fun to play and it’s good (rather than bad and ugly) that all the symbols used in the game are theme-related.
