They say that life is a mystery but often it’s just a mystery when your train is going to turn up, if at all. Thankfully, in this slot the Mystery Train does show up and the speed of the reels are a bit faster than some of the trains I’ve been on recently. It won’t be a mystery when you end up getting some fantastic wins courtesy of the Reveal-A-Wheel Feature.
Trains aren’t always guaranteed to give people pleasure but perhaps you can play this slot game while waiting for yours to turn up. This is a strange game though because it may say ‘Mystery Train’ but there doesn’t really appear to be any mystery. It’s hardly ‘Cluedo’ and Agatha Christie definitely didn’t write the plot to this game. The biggest mystery is probably why they couldn’t have created some kind of storyline to keep us entertained.
‘Mystery Train’ is a five-reel game that has four rows of symbols and it contains a total of 40 pay-lines. It’s entirely up to the player how many pay-lines you play on each spin of the reels. You can use the control buttons that are situated underneath the reels to set either one, four, ten, twenty or all forty of the pay-lines. Then you need to work out your stake and the minimum amount you can be spending with all the pay-lines activated is 0.40 and the maximum a total of 200. That’s a wide range but as long as you play with money you can afford to lose, it’s not going to be a problem.
Symbols in the game include several of the passengers. There’s the detective (well he looks like one) and his female blonde assistant, a soldier, a train official, another female who looks rather untrustworthy, a clock, the Queen to Ace playing card symbols, a 5 and the game logo which is the wild symbol in ‘Mystery Train.’ It can substitute for several of the symbols but not the arrows as that’d help get you in to the Reveal-A-Wheel feature. Nor can it replace the clock which is the scatter symbol. If you can get five wild symbols on an activated pay-line, that wins you 2500x your line bet.
The Reveal-A-Wheel feature can bring about some good wins but it’s not the easiest to understand. There are four arrow symbols each pointing in a different direction and appearing on selected reels only When certain ones appear on particular reels, the Reveal-A-Wheel feature is triggered. The wheel contains multipliers that go from 2x all the way up to 50x and whichever multiplier you get is applied to the stake that you had on the triggering spin. This can result in a big win but why does It have to be so complex? Check out all the rules in the paytable because this isn’t too easy to understand so new slot players should steer clear of this one until you become more experienced.

A lot easier to understand is the free spins round. You require three of the scatter symbols to make an appearance anywhere on the second, third and fourth reels to receive seven free spins. A different set of reels are used during those seven free spins and sadly, there is no chance of you being able to re-trigger those free spins which is a bit disappointing. You are more likely to see wild symbols appear which can of course get you some wins and it’s easier to trigger the Reveal-A-Wheel feature so it can be profitable.
It’s definitely a good idea to check out the paytable in this game. That gives you information about how much the winning combinations will pay out. For example, five of the blonde woman symbols on an activated pay-line wins you 750x your line bet and its 500x for a quintet of detectives. The paytable also give you details about the free spins round and tries to explain the confusing Reveal-A-Wheel feature. Also have some free games in order to see how all of this works and see that Reveal-A-Wheel feature in operation.
If after trying your luck on this slot you fancy trying another game that is similar to it, here’s a couple you could try. Have a go playing the Bally game ‘Shadow Diamond’ which also has 40 pay-lines and offers you seven free spins. It also has a wild symbol that appears on all of the reels. Also try your luck on the Saucify slot ‘Small Soldiers’ which has the same number of pay-lines and a free spins round but offers up to 12 of them.
Not the greatest of slot games but worth a play. It looks good and the theme is an interesting one but it could so easily have been used more. The big problem is its bonus games. The free spins round can be profitable but it’d have been much better if players could re-trigger the free spins. The Reveal-A-Wheel feature can also boost your account balance but why make it sound so complex?
