Double Bonus Video Poker review

Double Bonus video poker is a classic video poker game from mainland casinos, converted to fit and play perfectly on your computer screen.

Double Bonus video poker looks best on mobile phone screens and can be an enjoyable game on the go due to its low stakes and high payout percentage. The game also plays perfectly well on tablets, laptops and desktops, with the additional screen space used to show the prizes available.

Initially Double Bonus video poker was a popular American game, however the popularity of online casinos has seen it take up a new form and is now popular amongst a far wider audience, particularly in the UK where video poker is still gaining ground amongst casino players.

Double Bonus Poker Gameplay

The game is simple and the graphics are very basic, it probably wouldn’t look out of place on a Commodore 64. This is in keeping with its traditional routes, and the games makers; IGT probably wanted to retain the ‘classic’ elements of the game.

Unlike most video poker games, Double Bonus displays the actual cash value of the winning hands rather than the multiplier value, so if you are playing at £1 a hand, you will see that a Royal Flush is worth £2400. The values will also be displayed in your chosen currency when you joined the casino.

Once you are happy with your stake, press deal to be dealt five cards, with the best cards automatically holding. These holds are only suggestions though, so you can deselect them and hold your own choice.

Once you have pressed deal for the final time, any non-held poker cards will be replaced with random new ones with all winnings then saved to credits or to be gambled if you so wish.

Additionally you can change the speed of the game, so if you like a slower paced game simply click until the speed arrow is at its lowest setting. Likewise, to increase the speed just crank the arrow up ‘til full.

Double Bonus video poker is a very traditional looking game, and those who don’t appreciate or are not familiar with the traditional concepts may prefer a more modern take on the genre such as Jacks or Better. For people that have played video poker in mainland casinos, you can bring back those gaming memories straight to your computer screen with Double Bonus.
