Jewel of the Arts review

Slot games really do take you all over the world. ‘Jewel of the Arts’ from IGT takes us to the Orient and it’s a game that has a really beautiful look to it. Looks aren’t everything of course but this game really does have some excellent features that make it a profitable game to play.

The background to the reels shows a beautiful looking Japanese garden with blossom dropping down to the ground. This is a five-reel game that has a total of three rows of symbols and 20 paylines for you to try and increase your account balance with. You can play this game from as little as a penny as the paylines aren’t fixed and it’s up to you to decide how many to activate on each spin of the reels.

The symbols really are lovely to look at. It’s a bit like watching one of those travel shows that channels seem to be constantly putting on these days. There’s a Samurai warrior, an artist, a decorated fan and an origami bird, though I have to admit mine never quite look like that. Look out for the Jewel of the Arts logo as five of those on an active payline will pay 1000x your line bet.

The beautiful geisha girl is the wild symbol. Just like in real life, she can be really helpful by substituting for other symbols to get you some good wins. It doesn’t substitute for the Fan Dance Bonus symbol as that would make it a bit easier to get into the bonus game. Other symbols are the Jack to Ace playing cards but at least they have an attractive Oriental feel to them.

It’s advisable to learn as much as you can about the game before risking actual money on it. Play some free games and have a look through the paytable and game rules.

Bonus Games

To get into the Fan Dance Multiplier you need just two of the Fan Dance symbols anywhere on the centre reels (now you can see why the wild can’t sub for it). This gives you a 2x multiplier on your total stake on that spin.

The Fan Dance Bonus will see you awarded some free spin if three of the Fan Dance symbols turn up anywhere on the centre three reels. Note with these two bonuses you don’t need to be activating all the paylines so save your money if you wish.

Initially it’s just three free spins that you receive but now the wilds come into play. On your first spin reel two is totally wild, the next spin sees reels two and three wild and the final one has all three centre reels wild so some big wins can come your way. Keep an eye out for the Extra Spin symbol which is only on the first reel. If this appears then you get another free spin with those reels still wild.

An attractive game to look at and play. The symbols look really good, the soundtrack is an attractive one and there are some good chances to win big prizes. The Fan Dance Multiplier and in particular the Fan Dance Bonus can keep your account balance ticking over quite nicely. Get some extra free spins and you really can start cheering. This is definitely recommended.
