Fixed odds betting Bagatelle is roulette mixed with pinball, to give a traditional roulette style game, with newly animated sequences to keep the player guessing.
This is a new take on the classic fixed odds betting terminal game of roulette. The game features a standard roulette wheel, with the usual betting options, such as red and black, 0 to 36, and all the other outside and split betting options you would expect were you playing any other roulette game. This version also features a handy neighbours betting grid at the bottom of the screen.
After the bets are laid on the roulette table, with a minimum of £1, and a maximum of £100 per ‘spin’, the ball is released via an old fashioned style spring pulley system.
If anyone remembers the Price is Right game of Plinco, this is very similar. The ball makes its way through a forest of pins that manipulate the landing position of the ball. All the while, the roulette numbers are scrolling along the bottom of the screen.
This is all animated, and the outcome is actually decided the moment the bet button has been pressed. What follows is one of many (probably 37) animated sequences to show you the final landing position of the ball. Once in the slot, all winning bets are paid and a further betting option follows.
At the start of the game, the roulette numbers rise out of the bottom of the screen and generally show a different starting position with each new bet. With practice you will likely be able to tell which number, or certainly which area the ball will land.
After the bets have been totaled up, you are presented with the option to gamble or collect. The odds on winning the gamble are incredibly poor, with five lose positions, six lose half positions, five break even positions, six times two positions, and one times three, the chances are not good to increase your money. With twenty three spaces, a measly seven increase your winnings, eleven lose you money, and five return your winning bet. So, mathematically you should collect, as you have better odds on the main game. Should you wish to gamble, the same style animation is displayed as that of the main game, except the bottom sequence has altered to reflect the gamble winning/losing options.
