7’s Gold Casino review

In the early days of slot games, fruit symbols ruled the roost.  At that stage the clever idea was to link the prizes to different flavours of chewing gum in order to try and get around USA gambling regulations. I guess that’s why with all this obsession with fruit, we never get to see apples and bananas. It was Britain that gave the games the term ‘fruit machine’ and they were massive hits. Times have changed as modern technology and the desire to have specific themes came along, but here’s another game from Novomatic that has a retro feel to it. It does include some modern-day features though.

Lucky 7

This game has a retro feel mainly because of the design which makes it look like all those games that were in pubs, clubs etc. Unlike the ones that many of us loved to play, this game has a total of five reels and nine pay-lines. Those pay-lines are not a fixed amount so you do need to decide just how many to activate. Also, you need to decide how much to wager on each spin of the reels. The minimum figure you can wager with all the pay-lines activated is 0.45 and the most 450. A good range, just go for something you can afford to lose. Setting your stake and how many pay-lines to activate won’t cause you any problem, it’s an easy task.

The symbols go down that retro route with a watermelon, cherries, oranges, lemons, and grapes. In addition, there are single, double and triple red 7’s and a bar symbol. Five of the triple red 7’s pays you 3600x. The soundtrack to this game is a bit irritating to be honest. When the reels are spinning, there’s this loud series of thuds that sounds like the Cybermen are heading towards you. Thankfully, the sound can be muted.

Triple Magic

This may be a retro style game but there are some modern-day features that make the game even more interesting and profitable. The wild symbol in this game simply says ‘Wild’ and only appears on the third reel. Keep an eye out then because when it does make an appearance because it can substitute for other symbols in the game. That increases the chances of some winning combinations being created and boosting your account balance. Even better is when stacked wilds end up on the reels at the conclusion of a spin. They will cover the entire reel and improve even more the chances of a win coming along.

Take That Gamble

When you get a winning combination, there’s the opportunity to win some more cash. How? Well this game has a gamble feature and when that win comes along you have a big decision to make. Either just take the win and get ready for the next spin, or press the gamble button which is to the right of the spinner. Just above that are what looks like two portholes.  It’s simply a question of making the right choice between the red and black symbols to hopefully double your win. Get it wrong though and your win is lost. Five successful gambles are allowed but that’s a risky business if ever there was one.

A slot machine of this nature is ideal for those of you who are reasonably new to the world of slot games. Try your luck on this before moving onto the more complex games that Novomatic produce. Even though it’s not too hard a game to understand, make sure you access the paytable. Just click on the button down in the left-hand corner of the screen. This has lots of information including winning combinations and what they pay out plus details of the gamble feature. Have some free games too in order to see this game in action without having to spend any cash.

Similar Slot Games

There are plenty of other slot games out there that have a bit of a retro feel to them. Why not try the Novomatic game ‘5 Line Multiplay’ which also has a wild symbol and a gamble feature but just the three reels. Also, try the Microgaming slot ‘Crazy Chameleons’ which has five reels but just five pay-lines and also has a wild symbol to help get you some important wins.

In Conclusion

Another game from Novomatic that has a retro feel to it. The look of the game is impressive and brings back a fair few memories but that soundtrack is so irritating, thank God for the mute button. The wild symbol can help get you some good wins but be careful with that gamble feature. It’s a bit disappointing that there’s no free spins available but it’s still an entertaining slot and is ideal for new slot players so give it a go.
