Attila review

When Attila the Hun was going round trying to conquer country after country, I very much doubt that he’d have imagined one day he’d be the subject of a slot game. Well he is now in this game from Novomatic and it certainly has a few dramatic moments in it.

Attila was a great leader and warrior as he tried his hardest to defeat the Roman Empire. Of course it wasn’t just land that he was after, he quite fancied getting his hands on all the treasures that they possess. Just I guess like we don’t really need a history lesson just tell us how we can win some money.

The game has five reels, three rows of symbols and just the nine paylines available. The cost of playing the game ranges from just £0.09 to £900, so this is a game that high rollers can definitely have a good go at.

The main symbols in the game include Attila of course and he’s the wild symbol here. That means he can substitute for other symbols in the game to get you some good wins. It can’t substitute for the scatter symbol which is the fight (presumably to the death) that is taking place in the twilight. More about the significance of the scatter symbol will be revealed shortly.

Other symbols include various horsemen and archers all getting ready to release their blazing arrows. Sadly, we also get the nine to Ace playing card symbols, one at least too many I reckon. It’s much better to have more theme-related symbols rather than some silly numbers and letters.

It’s important before you start playing the game that you know as much about it as possible. The paytable contains all the information you need to know about the game. This includes how much each winning combination pays and how the bonus game works. Once that information is known just have some free games to see how all the action unfolds when the spins are set in motion.

Bonus Game

You need at least three of the scatter symbols to get into the bonus game. If you can manage that then you are given a total of 16 free spins. That’s a decent total and the real bonus is that during the free spins all wins are tripled.

There’s also a gamble feature in this game where you can double your wins up to five times. Yes, it’s the guess the next card feature again. Correctly guess the colour of the next card in order to double your win. Get it wrong of course and all your win is lost. There are some similar features that allow you to gamble perhaps just half of your win but not here.

In the background to the reels we see a landscape in a red and burnt orange colour. Perhaps this is where the next big battle is going to take place.

If you can get five of the Attila wild symbols then that’s the top prize won and this pays a 10,000x multiplier so well worth winning.

Another Novomatic game that has a really good look to it and can earn you some good wins. The theme is a good one and the bonus game with its tripled wins being really useful. Don’t get carried away with the bonus feature and accumulate wins not give them back.
