Plenty of Fruit 20 review

Fruit has always had a big role to play in the history of slot gams and they are back in this Novomatic release. Not just are they back, but the fruit symbols seem to be having the time of their lives in this game. It’s a slot with a simple gameplay but one that can produce some good wins and a lot of fun along the way.

Plenty of Fun

This game forms part of the ‘Plenty’ series that Novomatic have had great success with. It’s a five-reel game that as the title may have given away to you has a total of 20 pay-lines for you to try and win some cash on. That number is a fixed amount so that’s one less job to be doing when starting to play the game. You do need to be working out how much to gamble on each spin of the reels. The minimum amount you can spend on one spin is 0.40 and the most 100. Simply work out an amount that you can safely afford to gamble.

Before you do start playing the game you need to fill in the Reality Check Interval. This sees you having to set an interval, for example 15 minutes after which the game is suspended. Then you are shown how you are getting on and given the option of either quitting or carrying on playing the game.

Unlike in many Novomatic games, the control buttons aren’t underneath the reels. Instead, the spin button is to the right of the reels and above that you can get access to the menu that allows you to set your stake, decide whether to mute the not too irritating soundtrack and check out the paytable. When the gamble feature pops up, the control button for that is on the left of the reels. There’s no fancy backdrop to the game either.

Fruity Symbols

To the symbols and not just are they the kind you would have been playing in days gone by but they are in dancing mood. We get plums, cherries, oranges and watermelons and they do a fair bit of dancing which is bound to put you in a good mood, especially if you have just had a good win.

There’s also the lucky red 7 which is the wild symbol in this game. This symbol can substitute for others and hopefully that little bit of magic will bring about some winning combinations. That’s likely because it does tend to crop up a fair bit on the reels. It’s magic but not able to sub for the star symbol which is the scatter symbol in this game. The scatter symbol pays out 1000 coins when five stars appear anywhere on the reels at the end of a spin.

If you want to know more about how this game works then that’s easy to do. It’s possible to access the paytable via the menu button which is above the spinner. It has details of how much all the winning combinations pay out, how the wild helps you get wins and the duty of the scatter symbol. There is also information about the gamble feature, more about that in this review in a moment. Also have some free games to see how everything works and have a free giggle at those dancing fruits.

Gamble or Not?

When you get a win in the base game, up pops the gamble feature on the left-hand side of the reels. Now it’s decision time and one that you really do have to give a bit of thought to. It’s not compulsory to take up the gamble but if you do, then there’s the chance to boost the win that you have just had. It’s the usual card game with the simple task of correctly guessing the colour of the next card. Will it be red or black or more importantly, will you double your win or lose all of it?  You can try to double your win five times but this is so difficult. It’s best to just gamble small wins and perhaps stick at one or two attempts.

Similar Slots to This

As previously mentioned, this is one of several Novomatic games that make up their ‘Plenty’ series. If you enjoy this game then why not give a go to ‘Plenty on Twenty.’ That has identical gameplay with the gamble feature, wild and scatter symbols and 20 pay-lines that are hopefully full of wins for you. Also give a go to ‘Plenty of Jewels 20’ where as you might be guessing there are jewel symbols rather than fruit, an oh so slightly higher RTP (about 0.08 higher) and the usual mix of scatters, stacked wilds, and gamble features.

In Conclusion

There’s not a massive amount going on in Novomatic’s ‘Plenty’ series. What you do get is an enjoyable good looking game with a medium to high variance. The stacked wilds will get you some wins but it’s a shame the only real bonus on offer is the dodgy gamble feature. If you are new to playing slot games, this is a gentle introduction before moving onto the more complicated games that Novomatic must offer.
