Zenia: Queen of War review

It has to be said right from the start of this review that Zenia: Queen of War does look rather attractive.  A bit of a cross between Wonder Woman and some other female warrior that used to be on the television and of course has no relation to this character. With 100 pay-lines to play and two progressive jackpots, there are lots of coins to be won. Just don’t try it on with Zenia because I reckon she’d do a bit more than slap you across the face.

Time for War

How Zenia gets the time to be part of a slot game is beyond me, she’s usually out in her favourite cape slaying beasts. No popping down Asda to get something for dinner for this woman, that is for sure.  As previously mentioned, you need to be careful what you say to this Queen of War because she has an emerald jewel encrusted silver longsword (diamonds are a girl’s best friend after all) and a shuriken throwing star that can do a fair amount of damage when it hits its target.

The Zenia: Queen of War video slot has a total of five reels and a bumper 100 pay-lines available for you to try and get some winning combinations on.  It’s set in a silver frame and in the background, there’s a landscape that is dominated by green mountains.  Those 100 pay-lines on the reels aren’t a fixed amount, you can either play with 20, 50 or 100 and the minimum cost of playing with all the pay-lines activated is 10 and the maximum 1000. Simply work out a budget and ensure you don’t gamble amounts you can’t afford to lose.

The symbols in this online slot include a black Minotaur, a Manticore which is a lion that has a scorpion’s tale, the shuriken star. a longsword and the nine to Ace playing card symbols. The latter are the ones that see you cash-out the least when they provide winning combinations but do keep your account balance ticking over nicely.

Wild Warrior

It’s Zenia herself who is the wild symbol in this game. It can substitute for the others in this video slot to help get you winning combinations. It’s also a stacked wild and as explained later will help you win the progressive jackpot. It can’t replace the scatter symbol which is the shield. If you want to get some free spins, then you need three of the shield scatter symbols to appear on the second, third and fourth reels. When that happens, the gambler is given a total of 12 free spins to play with.

The War is On

This slot has two progressive jackpots to try and win, namely the War and Queen jackpots. How much these progressive jackpots are worth can be seen above the reels. You do need to be playing at max bet in order to win the full amount given. They come into play when you manage to get a total of 15 Zenia symbols on the reels. These can be won in both the base game and the free spins bonus round.

Fancy the Double?

Also in this game, there’s a gamble feature. This isn’t compulsory but appears once a winning combination is achieved in the base game. The control button for this situated underneath the reels. If you do decide to go for the gamble, it’s back to the question of what the colour of the next playing card is going to be. Will it be red or black?  Get the guess right and you double your win but an incorrect guess will see you lose your win. So, just like chatting up Zenia, it’s a case of being very cautious with this.

There’s a lot happening in this slot game with software by Novomatic so it’s important to be taking a good look through the paytable to find out lots about how the game runs. That includes the details of how much each of the winning combinations will see you winning. For example, five wild symbols on a pay-line and that has a 1000x multiplier, while it’s 250x for either five of the manticore or minotaur symbols. The paytable also informs the gambler how to win the progressive jackpots and trigger the free spins round. Make sure you have some free Zenia: Queen of War slot machine games to see how everything works.

Similar Games to Play

If the prospect of chasing a progressive jackpot excites you, then there are several other slot games you can test out. For example, there’s the Playtech slot game, ‘Fantastic Four’ which being based on Marvel characters has the Marvel progressive jackpot to chase. Fancy playing another slot with 100 pay-lines? There’s the WMS game ‘Mystic Unicorns’ which gets to the three-figure mark and also offers its players the chance to win some free spins.

Final Battle

There’s lots going on here and few dull moments. If you aren’t trying to get into the free spins round, there’s the progressive jackpot to hopefully get your hands on. It’s a good if not totally unique theme but reasonably well adhered to. Be careful with that gamble feature though. Definitely a game to add to your playlist.
