Crystal Forest review

If you go down to the Crystal Forest today, you may well be in for a big surprise. It’s not going to be a teddy bears picnic or anything soppy like that, but hopefully it might be a great cash prize won in this video slot game from WMS Gaming.

This is a five reel 25 payline game with a progressive jackpot which is of course set in a forest where there’s supposed to be plenty of riches and secrets that have been around for centuries. Heaven knows what they’ve been using to plant things here but as well as flowers there’s loads of crystals too. Playing this game costs between £0.25 and £125 if deciding to play all the possible paylines. Just go for a level that fits in with your financial budget and keep on enjoying the game. Setting the stake you want is no problem at all. It can either be set via a slider or the more traditional way of doing so. You’ll find that the best way of getting wins from this game is through the Cascading Reels feature, which is a popular one in video slot machine games from WMS.

When you have a winning combination just wait for other symbols to fall down the reels to replace the ones already in place and this can get you plenty more winning combinations. That’s not all though because as you’ll read, these Cascading Reels also play a major part in getting you into the bonus rounds. When you press spin, rather than the usual sight of the symbols spinning around at great speed, they simply disappear and the grid goes black then a few seconds later a new set of symbols appear. I’m never quite sure about this because at the back of my mind there’s always the fear that nothing will appear. Those disappearing and reappearing symbols all fit in well with the game’s theme. There’s snowflakes, a frog, toadstools, a candle, a crystal ball (I don’t see any tall dark strangers but there may be profits ahead), a crystal on a chain, a fairy, a dragon, a wolf and a goblin. There’s also the jackpot symbol. Five of these on an active payline will win you the progressive jackpot. It doesn’t happen that often but if it does and you’re the lucky player then you’ll definitely have enjoyed your trip to the Crystal Forest.

The wild in this game is the tree that looks like a goblin. This can substitute for all other symbols but it only appears on the second and fifth reels. This is an easy game to play with the main control buttons situated in the bottom left hand corner. You can access the paytable which tells you all you need to know about the game, the bonus feature and how much each symbol pays in a winning combination. If you use the option button at the top right hand corner of the screen you can set a more detailed autoplay. This includes setting how many automated spins you want or to allow them to spin until you’ve won a big prize or until your account balance goes up or down a specified amount.

Bonus Game

If this gets you winning combinations four times in a row then the good news gets even better. That’s because the free spins feature is activated. You can keep track of how many consecutive wins you’ve had by looking at the meter to the left of the reels. Then again you could always just count in your head. Four consecutive wins earn you seven free spins, five get you ten, six gives you 15, seven takes the number of free spins awarded up to 25 and that’s doubled up to 50 if you can get eight consecutive wins.

The Cascading Reels certainly make this a great game to play. There are plenty of chances to get great wins and the game looks and sounds great. Why not also try Amazon Wild, another forest feature game if you’re into that sort of theme.
