Plinko review

Do you remember the game show ‘The Price is Right’? It was a hugely popular American show that eventually made its way over to the UK. One of the main factors of the show was that it was one of the first game shows that had an audience that really shouted their heads off.

Well, ‘Plinko’ is a slot machine based on ‘The Price is Right’ which was made up of a series of mini-games, a bit like ‘The Cube’ is nowadays. One particular game included was ‘Plinko’ which had a chip that dropped down the board and would eventually land in a slot, so in a way it’s an ideal game to be transferred into another popular game from WMS Gaming.

‘Plinko’ is a five-reel game with four rows and a total of 50 paylines. These paylines are fixed so there’s no need to work out how many to activate which is always a bit helpful. You do have to decide your stake on each game. You can play from as little as £0.40 and as high as £200. Simply work out a financial budget and then play strictly to that.

Symbols in the game include a cruise ship, dollar symbols, diamond bracelets, the Price is Right logo and the Jack to Ace playing cards. The wild symbol here is that Price is Right logo with the scatter being the Plinko icon and as you’ll shortly read, getting this on a particular reel is very important if you want to win big prizes.

During the base game a Plink chip can drop down into the top-box display making its way down to one of the slots at the bottom to change between one and four reels wild for one spin.

Bonus Games

If you can get three of the scatter symbols anywhere on the reels then this triggers ten free spins. That’s always worth getting but the main bonus feature is the Plinko Bonus Game. This is triggered by getting the wild symbol to appear on the fifth and final reel. This can happen either in the base game or while you’re in the free spin bonus round. In this bonus game a Plinko chip goes into the top-box game board. It’ll pass through the Money Zone to get you some bonus cash until dropping down into one of those slots down the bottom. Just where that chip lands determines what cash, free spins or multipliers you win. If you’re really lucky you could end up winning the Minor or Major Progressive Jackpot.

It’s also possible to end up going through to the Showcase Showdown Wheel. Now if you’ve ever seen ‘The Price is Right’, this is the wheel that used to decide who’d go through to the final. It used to be fun watching some poor old woman having to use up all her energy to get the giant wheel spinning. Then there used to be the tough young guy who’d push It so hard you wondered if it’d ever stop. In this slot game there’s the chance to win a multiplier that could be as high as 100x.

Conclusion

This certainly brings back memories of one of the legendary game shows. It looks great and the constant noise of the audience and cries of ‘Come On Down’ build a great atmosphere. The bonus games are exciting too as that chip drops down and you wonder just where it’s going to land and what it’ll win you. Definitely recommended.
