The Wizard of Oz Wicked Riches review

Here’s another Wizard of Oz slot game from WMS Gaming. We’ve been paying so many visits to this world of witches, scarecrows and other magical characters, it’s becoming like an annual visit to Benidorm. It’s a popular theme though so it’s no surprise it’s been used again.

This time around the focus doesn’t really fall so much on Dorothy and her unlikely band of friends but the wicked witch. That’s the one who’s rather overdone the green make-up and there’s a few stories to tell about that from the famous 1930s movie I can tell you.

It’s a five-reel game that has a total of thirty paylines and in the background we have a full moon, trees and it looks like anything could be popping out at you in this rather spooky setting. Playing the game costs between £0.30 and £2.40. Setting the stake, you want to play at is easily set.

Symbols in the game include the wicked witch, an hourglass, a broomstick, a witches’ hat, the castle, a bucket of water, an owl and the scarecrow, tin man and lion.

There’s also a Wicked Riches bonus symbol and the wild in this game is the Wizard of Oz logo. This can substitute for other symbols in the game, with the exception of the bonus symbol, in order to create some winning combinations.

The game has an autoplay feature which is handy if you fancy some time away from the screen. Either use the control button down the bottom of the screen, this sets automated spins you can stop whenever you desire, or use the options button in the top right hand corner to set more precise amount.

There are a few bonus features in this game so have a good look through the paytable and the rules. This and some free games will have you fully prepared to battle the Wicked Witch before risking your real cash.

Bonus Games

There’s certainly plenty to keep you going in this game. The Winged Monkey has always been a bit scary but that’s not the case here. If its symbol appears on the third reel, then it really does you a favour by turning into one of the other symbols. That might help you get a winning combination but there’s more because it’ll also turn wild as will all its other symbols on the reels. That should lead to a few more wins coming your way before the next spin of the reels.

Three or more of the Wicked Riches scatter symbols appearing anywhere on the reels will give you eight free spins. Sadly, there’s no additional multiplier but if you get a win during your free spins then the Wicked Witch of the West will give you a random multiplier for that successful combination. She’ll ruin her reputation if she keeps on doing things like that. Also look out for those scatter symbols as that will re-trigger the free spins.

There’s also the Tornado feature which is randomly awarded. You’ll see eight barns and it’s your job to choose one of them. Doing so will award you some cash and if your luck is really in it could trigger a feature. That will win you one of the amounts that’s in those boxes above the reels. There are four boxes – Kansas, Haunted Forest, Emerald City and Munchkinland – all with some tasty amounts in there for you to get your hands on.

Conclusion

Yes, it’s another Wizard of Oz game but WMS have done well in creating something that is different from the other games out there. The bonus games can be triggered reasonably regularly and there are some good profits to be made here.
